What is the importance of technology in preschool settings?

Singapore is among one of the world’s most IT savvy and digitalised nation
3-year-olds are getting early exposure as the role of technology is indispensable
Many preschool operators are now incorporating added usage of technology into the curriculum to better adapt children into the digitalised world they are living in

According to Nurturing Early Learners Framework Singapore,

Technology should be used in a developmentally appropriate manner and complement other concrete activities, such as art, numeracy and outdoor play (Ministry of Education [MOE], 2013)

With teaching tools present for educators to seamlessly integrate technology into the curriculum, it encourages unprecedented learning opportunities for children to engage in (McManis & Gunnewig, 2012)

Technology naturally appeals to children
But teachers do not know how to incorporate technology into classrooms or lessons
While working in preschools, found that to be a common issue teachers face, including me.
Not knowing how to integrate technology is the main challenge
Dive in depth into why technology is essential in preschools, what some factors that teachers actually face when it comes to technology integration and etcetera
Technology is ever-evolving & teacher's duty to prepare future generation for the constant change

Today, technology is unavoidable.
Taught in our course to incorporate technology in preschool
Yet not many preschools are practicing it,
Want our children to be able to the coming 4th industrial revolution
Need to hear it from the school and teachers on why they don't use technology as much

The use of technology is increasingly significant.
It is inevitable in many aspects of our lives.
Issues regarding teachers' competency levels and willingness to integrate technology, and whether parents are receptive towards this.
As an advocate, we have to ensure that children are can benefit from the use of technology.
Thus, the importance of being open-minded when gathering perspectives.
